Assassin’s Creed – How to Fix the Game Not Launching

You try to simply launch the game via Steam but nothing will actually happen?

It’s easy to fix, all you have to do is:

1. Go into the game folder (\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Assassins Creed)
2. Rename “AssassinsCreed_Game.exe” to something else, like “AssassinsCreed_GameOLD.exe”
3. Rename either “AssassinsCreed_Dx10.exe” or “AssassinsCreed_Dx9.exe” to “AssassinsCreed_Game.exe”(I picked AssassinsCreed_Dx10.exe personally)

And done, that should fix the issue and it will also allow you to use the Steam Overlay and take screenshots.
