By default, the game is only capable of running at 1080p. Any higher causes crashes. Here’s how to resolve that.

Guide to Run the Carmageddon TDR 2000 Game at 4K
Step One – Game Setup
Firstly, run the game through Steam. When asked how to run the game, pick TDR 2000 setup. In the new window, click options. Pick a resolution of 1920x1080x32. Close the window.
Note: This ensures the HUD elements aren’t tiny when we play at 4K.
Step Two – dgVoodoo
Download dgVoodoo from here.
Navigate to your Carmageddon TDR 2000 folder (right click on the game in your Steam library then click browse files). Open your dgVoodoo.zip file. Drag dgVoodoocpl.exe to your Carmageddon TDR 2000 folder. In the dgVoodoo.zip file, navigate to MS then x86 and then drag all contents in the folder into the Carmageddon TDR 2000 folder.
Close the dgVoodoo.zip file. Open dgVoodoocpl.exe. At the top of the window where it says config folder / running instance, click Add. Again navigate to your Carmageddon TDR 2000 folder then press select folder. Back in the dgVoodoocpl.exe window click the DirectX header. Under resolution, pick your desired resolution. If you want 4K then click 3840×2160. Apply.
Step Three – Have Fun!
That’s it. Enjoy.
