Possible solution to chess ultra crashes or freezes when starting.
Before trying any other solutions to the problem, try disabling the Steam interface in the game.
How do I disable the Steam interface within the game? Easy:
- Go to your library > right click on your chess ultra > select properties > go to the general tab > select disable the Steam interface during games.
Start chess ultra again, done.
This should fix the freezing on startup issue.
