Garry’s Mod – Top 20 Useful Tips

In this guide I will show you some useful Gmod tricks that you might not know.

20 Useful Gmod Tips

Tip 1: Godmode

1. Press F10 (open your console).
2. Write “Buddha”.
3. Press ESC to leave your console.

Now you will no longer die.

Tip 2: Bind Message

1. Press F10 (open your console).
2. Write “bind [KEY] “say [TEXT]””.
3. Press ESC to leave your console.

Now you can text a message by pressing a hotkey.

Tip 3: Zoom with Camera

1. Select the Camera.
2. Hold Mouse2 and move your mouse to zoom in/out.
3. Press “R” to get back at the default position.

You can zoom with you Camera.

Tip 4: Spawn with Toolgun

1. Hold “Q” to open your UI Spawnmenu.
2. Right click on the Prop/NPC/Weapon etc. you want to spawn.
3. Press on “Spawn using toolgun”.

Now shot with the toolgun wherever you want your Prop/NPC/Weapon etc. to spawn.

Tip 5: Spawn Weapons Using Scroll Wheel

1. Hold “Q” to open your UI Spawnmenu.
2. Aim at a Weapon you want to spawn.
3. Press your “Scroll Wheel”.

Now you spawned the weapon where you looked.

Tip 6: Change Your Physgun Color

1. Hold “C”.
2. Press on “Player Model” in the top left.
3. Press at “Colors”.
4. No write any combination you want to have. (0,500,128000 or 128000,500,0 look cool).
5. Close the tab.
6. Kill yourself (in game :))

Now your Physgun looks way nicer.

Tip 7: Weapon on HL2 Car

1. Spawn the HL2 airboat/jeep.
2. Hold “C”.
3. Right click on the HL2 airboat/jeep.
4. Click on “Weapon” for the airboat or “tau_cannon” for the jeep.
5. Sit in the airboat/jeep.
6. Press “F10” (open your console).
7. Past “ent_setname a; ent_fire a enablegun 1; ent_fire enableradar 1”.

Now you can shot by pressing left click.

Tip 8: Self Damage

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “hurtme *value*”

That is how you damage yourself.

Tip 9: How to Get Superpowers

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “phys_pushscale 999999999999”

Now if you hit a Objekt it will fly far away.

Tip 10: How to Use Emotes

Press “F10” (open your console) and write:

• “act laugh”
• “act agree”
• “act disagree”
• “act salute”
• “act wave”
• “act dance”
• “acte zombie”
• “act muscle”
• “act bow”
• “act cheer”
• “act wave”
• “act becon”
• “act pers”
• “act forward”
• “act group”
• “act halt”
• “act robot”

You can combinde “act …” with “bind…” (bind o “act bow”).

Tip 11: Hidden Weapon 1#

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “give weapon_alyxgun”

Now you got the hidden Alyxgun.

Tip 12: Hidden Weapon 2#

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “give weapon_annabelle”

Now you got the hidden Annabelle.

Tip 13: Get a Lot of Ammo

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “givecurrentammo”

You will get max. Ammo.

Tip 14: Get All Weapons

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “sv_cheats 1”
3. Write “impulse 101”

Now you got every single Weapon. (HL2/Other).

Tip 15: Change NPCs Weapons

1. Hold “Q”
2. Press “NPCs” in the top left
3. Then hover over “Weapon Override”
4. Click on a weapon you want your NPCs to spawn with.

Now every spawned NPC will get the weapon.

Tip 16: How to Kick

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “kick *username*”

You friend is now gone.

Tip 17: How to Change the Gravity

1. Hold “Q”.
2. Press “Utilities” in the top right.
3. Press “Server Settings” in the top right.
4. At the Gravity bar you can change the gravity.

Now you can be on the moon.

Tip 18: How to Clean Up Map

1. Hold “Q”.
2. Press “Utilities” in the top right.
3. Press “Cleanup” in the “Admin” section.
4. Then press “Clean Up Everything”.

Erverything will be cleaned up.

Tip 19: How to Hide HUD

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “cl_drawhud 0”

Your HUD will be hinden (also you write “cl_drawhud 1”).

Tip 20: X-Ray

1. Press “F10” (open your console).
2. Write “r_drawothermodels 2”

Now you can see through walls.
