Leaf Blower Revolution – Idle Game – Challenges Guide

Challenges Guide

Challenges are unlocked once you complete your first BLC, the reward for completing challenges are Challenge Points which you can spend on Furniture in the Your House area (300 Cheese). While completing challenges isn’t strictly necessary for progression, it can be a fun way to spend some time and they do give some benefit with each furniture item giving +25% All Leaves (and some have other miscellaneous bonuses).

This is a guide on general tips for each of the challenges, they won’t be step by step guides so you can still play them for yourself. The challenges will be sorted from easiest to hardest in my opinion.

A lot of challenges allow gem upgrades, I will list any upgrades that are exceptionally good to complete the challenge faster, but they are nearly never strictly necessary to complete the challenges (other than +750% All Leaves and It’s Mine because the former is one you should already have and It’s Mine is personal preference if it’s needed or not).

Speedblower Prestige/BLC% (Normal/Online/Online Combo)

The challenges are gemless, so keep this in mind.

Not much to say here, play the game how you normally would starting from nothing. If you’re interested in seeing the optimal strategies, check out the #speedrun channel.

All Manual

Best gem upgrades:

  • Prestige Coins x3
  • Converter Output +300%

In this challenge you need to crunch without using autobuyers, but because of it’s short length it isn’t too painful. Other than not allowing autobuyers it’s basically Speedblower BLC%, but with gem upgrades.

Hands Only

Best gem upgrades:

  • Prestige Coins x3
  • Converter Output +300%

Because you can only use Your Hands tool my biggest tip is to not slack on Nuclear Fuel, it can be fairly hard at times to blow the heavier leaves off the screen with your low blowing radius, but with more blowing power or just automating it with your ALBs it shouldn’t be too bad.

Speedblower Revolution

This challenge is gemless.

Because of this challenge’s unique clear condition, the guide will be split into setup phase and final run.

Setup:

To complete this challenge, we’ll want quite some things set up, a 20 second crunch is a relatively tall task, so it will take some specific things.

For BLC shop purchases you will want:

  • Pets (Foxo for more BLC, Raccoono for a faster seed grind and Bunnyo for the final run)
  • Autobuy Priority Device
  • Crunchy Coins (1)
  • More Converter Transistors (3)
  • Increase Converter Output (as much as feasible)
  • Any upgrades that will help you get the above faster (Master of Leaves, What the Combo, etc…)
  • Celestial Plane

Once you’ve gotten these you’ll want to set up for a seed grind, so buy ALBs <3 Seeds from the Celestial shop and select Raccoono to get to max bags with at least Basic Leaves.

Once you’re at the point you can prestige, make sure your Coin Upgrade Bot is off to avoid spending all your prestige coins you’ve worked so hard for.

Final Run:

Set up your autobuy priority device as follows.

Prestige Shop:

  • Unlock Converters (On)
  • Auto Unlock Leaves (On)
  • Auto Unlock Flasks (On)
  • Increase Converter Count (On/1000x less than your current coins)
  • Increase Converter Output (On/1000x less than your current coins)
  • Upgrade Discount (On/1000x less than your current coins)
  • More Leaves (On/10)
  • Rest (Off)

Leaves Shop-Orange Science Shop:

  • Unlock next resource (On)
  • Rest (Off)

Black Science Shop:

  • Unlock Big Leaf Crunch (On)
  • Rest (Off)

Once you’ve set it up, switch to Bunnyo, crunch, wait for your converters and autobuys to unlock the BLC Portal and crunch as soon as it’s unlocked. It may take some practice (which is why we left Prestige Coins to spare), but it should give you a run below 20 seconds.

Trader’s Crunch

Best gem upgrades:

  • BLC Coins x3

This is the most unique challenge and has 2 good ways to solve it, so I’ll go over them separately.

General Tips:

  • Because of trades only taking 10 seconds, take all trades you can to get yourself cheese for refreshing trades.
  • Refresh trades often when you’re looking for flasks, you need enough for the next flask unlock and optimally 10/10 All Leaves+, if a trade doesn’t give you enough and you have lots of cheese left, keep refreshing.
  • Get enough Strange Science to unlock Exotic Leaves, The Abyss (on first crunch) and some amount of BLC++

6(-ish) Crunch Route (active):

  • You crunch often and don’t need to look for any trades to get BLC Science upgrades (which is possible).
  • Get Exotic BLC upgrades until it starts heavily slowing down (at least 10 of each)

2(-ish) Crunch Route (idle):

Your first crunch will unlock as many Master of Leaves and What the Combo as possible as well as Nuclear Apocaleaves 5/5 to make piling easier.

On Second Crunch you can grind out Exotic Seeds offline (You need the Offline Seeds gem upgrade for this, 750% Offline is good too):

  1. Pile Exotics with decent combo and afk for the 1st seed and unlock Celestial.
  2. Once you’ve gained enough offline Exotic Leaves purchase only the Exotic Seed.
  3. Check in once in a while to purchase more seed levels, this will help a lot.
  4. Make sure to accept Celestial trades whenever possible.
  5. You should be able to crunch for the remaining amount of BLC needed.

Combno

Best gem upgrades:

  • BLC Coins x3
  • Offline Profits +750% (Idle/Mixed)

This is where challenges start to be on the harder side. There are a few ways to do this, so I’ll break it up into the more active and the more idle playstyle.

General Tips:

  • Platinum to Void Leaves are difficult for once, with 3 levels in More […] Leaves from the prestige shop (cost: 42 coins each), you should be able to do them all fairly quickly still, though you won’t get past them in mere seconds.
  • Master of Leaves is the only way to increase leaf gains significantly, so invest heavily into it.
  • Foxo is love, Foxo is life, unlock Foxo as early as you can, it pays back for itself in no time.

Active:

This method is essentially just brute force, just 3cc until you reached the 100m goal.

Idle:

  1. Crunch for enough to unlock the Celestial Plane, Foxo and Raccoono.
  2. Unlock one Exotic Seed (my preferred way is piling into offline).
  3. Unlock Celestial Leaves and kill one enemy in the Celestial Plane for ALBs <3 Seeds.
  4. Afk with Raccoono for max bags, you can upgrade in between to make it faster or just take a nap (make sure the Celestial Converter is off!).
  5. Turn on the Celestial Converter and get about 10 (depending on afk time) Moar BLC.
  6. Prestige into 3cc to 100m total BLC.

Middle Ground:

Also unlock Unique Leaves in the first step of the idle method.

Petless

Best gem upgrades:

  • BLC Coins x3
  • More Seeds
  • Offline Profits +750%

Pets are an integral part of how we normally play the game, so playing without them comes with some difficulties, below I’ll describe the biggest obstacles and how to overcome them.

Unique Leaves:

At the start you’ll want to grind out enough BLC by brute force to unlock Unique Leaves, this will take a good few crunches, but it will help immensely to have these early to make up for the lack of pets. Ghost Leaf will take the place of Foxo, Rainbow Leaf is a way to speed up seed grinding without using Raccoono, Glitter Leaf helps get combo up without Doggo.

Seed Grinding:

Without Raccoono doing a seed grind will be significantly slower, but in this case it has many purposes and it will be made up for by having the More Seeds gem upgrade and the Rainbow Unique Leaf.

The purposes of the seed grind here are:

  • Celestial Converters, like in previous challenges, it’s better to not go through the Celestial grind, especially since a lot of the pets would help lots with this task, but we don’t have access to pets.
  • Unique Leaves, these kind of speak for themselves, especially the Ghost and Glitter Leaves will be helpful, but might as well grab them all.
  • Prestige Coins, right now is the time to get enough prestige coins for the rest of the challenge, after you’ve gotten everything you need from the Celestial Shop (Unlock Mythical Leaves and about 10 Moar BLC, anything more is optional), it’s time to prestige and set up your autobuyers for 3cc, we’ll be here for a while.

Mythical Leaves:

One of the easier parts of this run, make sure to fully max out the shop so you won’t have too low blowing power later on and you’re getting enough BLC for the next big grind.

If you’re having trouble getting enough Mythical Leaves for the first seed, piling into offline should do the trick (and having max gold combo).

Lava, Ice and Obsidian Leaves:

These I group together because of their close BLC cost, it’s more time efficient to grind their BLC in one go and then seed farm for combo and do all of these at the same time. While you’re still collecting (gold) seeds, go to these areas in order just to unlock the next leaves (up to obsidian) and grind out as much obsidian combo as you can afford.

After maxing out gold combo upgrades the best way to get seeds for these leaves is to pile in their area into afk, you likely won’t get the obsidian seed yet, but piling it is still good to get combo up more.

After purchasing the first Lava and Ice seeds is when we start the Celestial Seed grind.

Celestial Seed into obsidian piling:

Now that we have some More Celestial Leaves upgrades from the Lava and Ice shops we can start going for the first Celestial seed to get our combo up more. Get up Celestial Marketing, Worthy Enemies and More enemies, Please up to about 1/20th the cost of the seed and just afk.

Once you can afford the first seed you want to keep active with upgrading Celestial Seed Marketing to the point where the cost is (1/level) of your current leaves.

After having maxed the Celestial Combo you’ll be able to pile your Obsidian Leaves and afk until you can afford Unlock Silicon Leaves (and as many Moar BLC as you’re willing to wait for).

Silicon and Benitoite Leaves:

Now that we’ve gotten a lot Moar BLC upgrades, we can do the final BLC grind to unlock the Leafsink Harbor. Once the Leafsink Harbor is unlocked you’ll want to go through Silicon as fast as possible and get Unlock Benitoite Leaves, likely with printers being your main source of Silicon Leaves due to Printer Printers.

Once you’ve unlocked Benitoite Leaves you’re in the home stretch, just needing to blow off a total of 100m of them in value, which should be fairly quick with all the combo upgrades we’ve gotten through the course of the run.

Alternative Route, Trader:

At any point you can decide to start trading instead of actually unlocking the areas for new leaves, it has the downside of being less consistent, but it’s less active playtime overall.

You need at least Trading Education 1 (cost 20m BLC) with some luck to be able to skip leaves with trading, and you need Trading Education 2 (total cost 500m BLC) to get it more consistently. Because the clear condition is to have 100m Benitoite Leaves total no matter the source, trading works just fine to complete the challenge.

Printer Maintenance

Best gem upgrades:

  • BLC Coins x3
  • More Seeds
  • Offline Profits +750%
  • Buy Borb Taxi Ltd.

Not having printers is in most cases not that big a problem, it’s less of a restriction than no pets, so you may be wondering why it’s below and thus harder than Petless. The biggest reason is needing to reach floor 20 in the Leaf Tower from a fresh save.

For the most part you’ll do the challenge the same as Petless – There is some more focus on piling because of no printer printers though –  There will be a difference starting at Silicon Leaves.

Silicon and Benitoite leaves:

After reaching Leafsink Harbor you’ll want to pile Silicon Leaves with max possible combo before unlocking Benitoite Leaves, that way you can afford those seeds without a trade. After maxing out Silicons, you’ll want to start crunching for tower, make sure to do this in the Volcano since you’ll get at least 1 Orb during your crunching.

Tower:

The upgrades you will want to buy somewhat depend on your total crunches, but assuming you followed the route so far you should have about  300 crunches.

The best path in that case for tower is to manually play until you have enough Gold Tokens for Tower ALBs, then make sure your ALBs consistently beat floor 10, but don’t get much further so you can afk grind to 500 Gold Tokens as fast as possible for the flat damage upgrades. Once you’re able to afford flat Gold damage, purchase as many % silver upgrades and you should be able to finish the challenge.

Infertile Grounds

Best gem upgrades:

  • BLC Coins x3
  • Converters Output +300%
  • Offline Profits +750%
  • Prestige x3

This is the second most unique challenge behind Trader’s Crunch because of the limitations it brings, this however is the most difficult challenge other than Speedblower MLC%.

Special consequences of the challenge:

  • You won’t be able to get much more than 10b/1e10 Prestige Coins.
  • You can’t get most Unique Leaves.
  • Because of low Prestige Coins, it’s hard to get all science converters net positive.
  • You can’t fully max any of the (permanent) leaf shops.
  • You can’t use the Celestial Converter to cheese past the Celestial grind.
  • Trading is nerfed since you can’t get infinite leaves of any kind.

I’ll be writing out most phases of the game since this challenge is so unique in comparison to any other.

BLC Shop:

At the start there are some goals we want to reach in the BLC Shop, these are mostly similar to normal runs, but because of the special circumstances I’ll point them out:

  • Prestige+++++ up to 14 or so, it’s good to have to gain every bit of more coins, especially early on
  • Converter upgrades Very good to break even earlier on your Black to Strange Science converters, just in general good since converters help you get more BLC too.
  • Printers upgrades Useful once you get some Printer Printers, not gamebreaking since you can’t get that many Printer Printers, but good nonetheless.
  • Master of Leaves Incredibly good like always, it helps you at all stages of the game.
  • Trading upgrades Good to get some leaves earlier post Exotic where you need to crunch absolutely loads to even get the new areas, you likely aren’t gonna get enough leaves to ever skip though since you can’t get enough of the other leaves to do that consistently (never get more than Trading Education 1, you can’t accept higher level trades anyways).
  • What the Combo Same story as MoL, an incredibly good upgrade as always for the entire duration of the run.
  • Nuclear Apocaleaves 5/ALB Tools Good upgrades to grab, really cheap and do what they need to do.
  • Automation upgrades (Area Teleport Bot, Upgrade Bots, Converter Start Bot) These are good to grab if you want to chill a bit more, though only grab them once they’re easy to afford (a few crunches max).
  • Auto Crunch Bot (and accessories) There is a lot of crunching to be done in this run, while the bot is a fair bit slower than doing it manually, it’s certainly nice to be able to just walk away from the screen and still get BLC for it. Don’t spend a fortune on it, but consider it if you want to play more idle.
  • Autobuy Priority Device This one goes hand in hand with Crunchy Coins, cherish it.
  • Crunchy Coins As always useful to have, even with low total prestige coins, later on, it’s even good to upgrade this beyond 1/10 so you can spend your prestige coins more liberally.
  • Unique Leaves Only get these once the cost doesn’t matter too much anymore since you’ll only be able to effectively get two Unique Leaves (Bone Leaf and Robot Leaf), still an upgrade you’ll wanna get at some point though, just because of Printer Printers.
  • Pets Good as always, I’ll point out any pets you want and the points you want them.

Early game (up to Celestials):

At the start of the game, not much changes yet, crunch away to get Pets (Foxo, Doggo, Squirrelo), Autobuy Priority Device, Crunchy Coins 1 and all cheap finite upgrades or good infinite upgrades to a level you’re happy with.

After having done a good few crunches we’ll want to get enough prestige coins to start the celestial grind proper and for most of the crunching for the rest of this run. Unlike normally, there’s no seeds to gain practically infinite prestige coins, so we’ll need to maximize Gold Combo and pile Exotic leaves with a night of offline for the largest amount of Prestige Coins we can manage (I’d say around e10).

With our Prestige coins in hand we want to set up our Autobuy Priority Device to only spend about e5 of our coins per upgrade (more is possible, but not my preference).

Beyond that spend some extra coins (up to e8) in Upgrade Discount and More Celestial Leaves for the Celestial grind.

Before finally starting off killing enemies in the Celestial Plane get up the damage upgrades in the Bismuth and Cosmic shops up to a reasonable level.

With all setup done, we need to do the Celestial grind and properly this time, equip Squirrelo and upgrade ALB Hit Damage (so you can consistently kill enemies), Celestial Marketing (up to 9), Worthy Enemies (up to 11) and More Enemies, Please (up to 13) before finally saving up for Unlock Mythical Leaves. It will take a long time (about 8 hours or so), but it needs to be done.

Mid game (Mythical, Lava, Ice, Obsidian):

Once you’ve unlocked Mythical Leaves from the Celestial shop and got a good base there in Moar BLC you’ll want to crunch for The Mythical Garden.

Once unlocked you want to get about 11 Mythical Marketing online (or mixed online and offline), pile and then afk for Unlock Lave Leaves, plenty Moar BLC and at least 1 Printer Printer to speed up crunching, you’ll need it for the next big grind.

Having gotten as many Mythical and Celestial Moar BLC as we can, we want one more thing, which is a trade for Lava Leaves, it will still be a good while before we get the area and we’ve got printer printers, so any amount of leaves is good for this trade, any Moar BLC we can get is welcomed with open arms.

Now it’s time to crunch for The Volcano, Artifacts and The Abandoned Research Station in that order (mostly because we’ll be wanting any and all BLC Orbs we can grab), it will take some time, so if you want to, set up the Auto Crunch Bot, or just do it manually.

After unlocking the areas you should have enough Lava Leaf Printers to Unlock Ice Leaves fairly fast, to get enough Ice Leaves for Unlock Obsidian Leaves either pile and offline or just wait for your printers to do the work depending on your preference (I suggest a mix of the two).

Obsidian Leaves will take a good amount of afk time and proper piling, at the start you can go for about 2-3 Obsidian Marketing and some Obsidian Combo, after which you’ll want to pile and afk for a few hours.

With the piling into afk you’ll want to spend all your Obsidian Leaves on getting 5 Obsidian Marketing and as much Combo as possible, after which you’ll need to pile again.

It’s possible there’s still a small bit to gain from doing this for another cycle, but at this point it took me only 6 hours of afk time to Unlock Silicon Leaves.

Late game (Silicon and Benitoite):

My suggestion here is to look for any Silicon trade to get the printers running, after some time you should be able to Unlock Benitoite Leaves, which you’ll only be getting through trades. With really good luck you can get around e9 Benitoite Leaves, which is more than we’d get, even if we unlock the area, which we’ll be skipping.

Once you’ve earned your batch of Benitoite Leaves from trading you’ll be unlocking Borbs, all Moar BLC you can afford and whichever miscellaneous things you’d like besides that.

Equip Borbo for a bit so you can enter the Cheese Pub and gamble for the Zoo Necklace, you should have plenty of cheese from accepting any and all trades so far to get it nearly guaranteed.

Now for the longest BLC grind in the game, unlocking Leaf Tower.

My main advice here is persistence and/or a good setup for your Autocruncher with lots of patience. Any orbs you collect during the grind will massively reduce the amount of crunches you’ll need to do, so obviously grind your crunches in volcano, preferably with Foxo and Flocko to speed up the grind any bit we can.

Tower:

In the Leaf Tower you’ll not be doing a lot of damage to start since you can’t get any maxed shops, though you should be able to take out a few enemies on floor 1 to start, go for % damage in the Silver Token Shop to start so you start getting past floor 1 and get more coins per enemy.

Once you’re able to get past floor 3 a bit more consistently from % damage, you’ll want to grind out 500 Silver Tokens for the flat damage, after which you’ll just be doing essentially normal tower runs until you beat floor 15.

F2P/Speedblower MLC%

Both of these challenges are gemless.

Being two of the three toughest challenges in the game, I have surprisingly little info to actually give on these because they are mostly just standard play, however I will give general tips of my preferred strategy.

Early game:

On the first set of crunches my preferred upgrades to get are at the very least Pets (Foxo, Doggo, Raccoono), Unique Leaves, Crunchy Coins 1, Autobuy Priority Device and The Celestial Plane. All this so the first seed grind serves as many purposes as possible, namely getting Prestige Coins for the whole run, getting all Unique Leaves (other than Bone Leaf) and skipping Celestial with the Celestial Converter (The Celestial Plane is unlocked to get ALBs <3 Seeds).

Mid game:

In the gemless challenges, the main way to get the Celestial and up seeds is through either trading or printers. Printers is the more consistent way, but either way, the goal for mid game is to get all the seeds up to obsidian (obsidian has to be done with trades)

Late game:

After getting most upgrades in the shops up to and including obsidian, it’s time to start unlocking the Leafsink Harbor with some crunching and get up Trading Education some bit.

While getting up Silicon Leaves enough to buy it’s seed through Printer Printers, you should be constantly looking for good level 4 Obsidian and Benitoite trades to get as many Moar BLC as possible from these shops, besides that the artifact upgrades in Obsidian, Leaf Merginator in Benitoite and damage upgrades in both are really important (Nuclear Fuel is also really important, but this should be easy enough to max out with a level 4 trade).

Make sure to get enough Borbs to unlock the Pub early, getting the Zoo Necklace is really helpful and being able to play the Borb Claw Machine is one of the best ways to gain damage.

Once you’ve gotten your Obsidian and Benitoite trades it’s time to crunch for the BLC we need for tower, as always, don’t forget to do your crunching in The Volcano as to get as many BLC Orbs as possible.

Tower:

For the F2P challenge the challenge ends pretty much once you unlock tower, you should be able to kill enemies on early floors with the damage from the permanent shops we’ve gotten so far to transition into your main damage coming from the Silver Token Shop to beat floor 10 asap.

For MLC%, this is where the run starts, it will be a long road till the end still, but here are some general tips for the way there:

  • You should get up your damage from equipments, either through crunching loads (around 3k since you don’t have to bother with post MLC) or by being an absolute master of the Borb Claw Machine and focusing on getting cheese to stay net neutral for cheese spent (if there is cheese and a curse, go for the cheese).
  • Early on it is worth it to buy % damage upgrades since it will help you get to higher floors before your first damage boosts from equipment.
  • Never buy defensive upgrades, once you get to higher floors it will just slow you down if you ever so happen to survive a hit and it likely won’t help you getting to any threshold floors if your crunches and/or curses are high enough to carry your damage.
  • Once your equipments start carrying % damage, make sure to mainly buy Leaf Damage upgrades in the Gold Token Shop and Item Drop Chance in the Silver Token Shop.

General Tips:

  • Unlock trading early, get as many slots as you can and accept any trades only with Penguino equipped (you can swap away) while you’re not needing actual trades to save up cheese, it will come in handy later.
  • Because you’ll get a benefit from crunches later on anyways, it’s better to do faster crunches than technically optimal crunches a lot of the time (so go only for 6 Strange Science BLC++ instead of 8, don’t wait for BLC Science).
