Introduction

London 2012: The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games aims to recreate the atmosphere and excitement of the real thing when it comes to London at the end of July. Playing as one of 36 nations, your aim is to bring back gold for your country You can compete in multiple disciplines across track, aquatics, gymnastics and other sports like beach volleyball (a first in olympic video games). A throwback to the classic “International Track and Field” games, London 2012 the game puts you right in the shoes of a top athlete without the need to tie your laces. Making use of the PlayStation Moves controls adds a further dimension of realism to the game, alongside the prospect of competing for glory against competitors from across the globe.

You will be required to complete at least two playthroughs of the Olympic Games mode, on both medium and hard difficulty. This is because the Kit Collecter trophy has unlockables from each setting.

Guide

Step 1: 1st Playthrough

First of all you should take a look at the Pushing Yourself trophy. Your 1st playthrough would be a good time to start playing towards it as later you may find some of your times/scores are difficult to beat. This playthrough should be on the Olympic Games mode. You should play on medium difficulty and you should be aiming for All-Around Athlete, Got Gold, Successful Campaign, The Contender, 24 Carat Campaign.

Tip (This also applies to the 2nd Playthrough): If you are struggling with an event and you’ve used up all your retries, then during your last retry you can use the button and quit via the XMB. When you return to your career you have all your retries back to attempt the event again. As long as you quit during the last try the autosave doesn’t kick in.

Step 2: 2nd Playthrough

Your 2nd playthough will be to play through Olympic Games mode again, but this time on the hard difficulty mode. If you have done as advised in Step 1, then your main goal in this step is Kit Collector. Also if you have not earned the Self Improvement trophy then you should aim to get it in this playthrough. These 2 playthroughs will also rack up the kilometers for Marathon Man.

Step 3: Online Mode

There are 4 online trophies, all of which can be boosted; Social Sports, Take On The World, Represent and Glorious Results. The easiest way is of course to find yourself a boosting partner from the Boosting Thread, however they are not too difficult without.

Step 4: Challenge Mode

There are 4 trophies which are challenge mode specific; Awesome Foursome, All Star Performance, No Weak Links and Up To The Challenge. Work your way from Challenge Set 1 through to Challenge set 8. Some of these are tricky as the target scores can be fairly high.

Step 5: Clean Up

If you follow this guide correctly, the majority of the trophies will now be unlocked. Should there be any left, then complete them using the Events Play mode.

Conclusion

Note: Some trophies say “Whilst representing a nation”. These trophies must be performed in Olympic Games mode or Event Play mode. Trophies that do not say this can also be done with the Move controller in the Motion Events Play mode. For example Cracking The Play.
