Quick Guide to King Koga Deck Build
By Lasagna.
Essentially the deck seems to really want some way to maintain poison while being able to swing every turn. Opening any of the basic pokemon is pretty okay. All evolve into something useful and the Arbok is pretty much just Muk in a different form.
You really want to be able to control your opponents active and hand to best of your abilities. Opening red card and going second turn 1 is an instant play. This also means you want to drop all the pokemon you can down if you’re going first considering the amount of red cards I’ve ran into.
One of the best things this deck accels at is being able to bait your opponent into over committing on one of your mons. Even thou Koga does not working on Arbok, this isn’t really a problem since you already have to ability to lock your opponents active and with “Corner”. Plus it usually takes 2-3 turns to knock out your opponents pokemon at 60 damage, so all that time helps you build up your Muks and Weezings.
- One late game play to keep in mind is remembering that Muk + Weezing isn’t the only line you should be aiming for.
- Arbok + Weezing is just as equally effective since locking down the active keeps poison up and gives you an effective 70 damage a turn.
