Raid Proof Base Location Guide

Finding and Entering the Castle

The castle is in the Fractured Plains, on the western side, close to where the Stormtouched Highlands area begins.

It sits on high ground. The walls are complete, but there’s no door. To get inside, you need to build a path using beams to go over the wall. At the base of the castle, look behind some rock formations to find a chest.

Setting Up Your Base

First, clear the rocks around the castle. Before you start building inside, it’s a good idea to set up a fast travel point somewhere close but safe. The spot near the waterfall that looks over the castle works well. You’ll need a lot of wood for building. Teleporting back to the starting zone is recommended for gathering wood since there aren’t enemies there.

Building Inside the Castle

Use beams to make a frame along the inside of the castle walls. Then add floors and stairs to create levels. Put in some lights. Move your fast travel point to the top level; this placement helps protect you from raids.

Here’s one way to use the different levels:

  • Top Level: Place machines here that don’t require a roof.
  • Entrance Level: Good spot for your bed and storage chests.
  • Lower Level: Suitable for machines that need to be under a roof.
  • Ground Level: Contains the rocks, onions, and the chest you found earlier.

It’s also suggested to add extra walls on the north and west sides inside the castle. This can help prevent enemies from glitching through the main castle walls.

Resources Nearby

The area around the castle has several resources:

  • Rock, tin, and copper nodes.
  • Many dwellberries (provide 20 food each). There’s also running water. You can combine dwellberries and water in a Cooking Pot to make dwellberry infusion, which is useful for hydration.
  • Sheep-like creatures that drop fleece.
  • Trees are available, but teleporting to the starting area is suggested for easier wood gathering.

Check the North, East, South, and West areas around the castle for specific resource locations.
