Stardew Valley – Marriage Guide

If you want to get married in Stardew Valley, it’s easy, you just have to follow some steps (you may sit for a long time if you just started playing, but believe me, the game is more than just marriage).

About Marriage

In singleplayer mode, Marriage is possible only with a villager who is marked as “single” in the Social tab.

Marriage Candidates:

There are 10 marriageable characters in the game, including 5 boys and 5 girls

The Boys:

  • Alex
  • Elliott
  • Harvey
  • Sam
  • Sebastian
  • Shane

The Girls:

  • Abigail
  • Penny
  • Emily
  • Haley
  • Leah
  • Maru

Things Necessary Before Marriage

Before you think about marriage, you have to choose your partner and reach his hearts by 8 hearts By giving him the gifts he loves, especially on his birthday.

The morning after you first reach 8 hearts with a marriage candidate, Pierre will mail you a message to let you know about the bouquet (200g at Pierre’s Store).

You will be shown 2 more hearts, you should reach 10 hearts.

Another thing, your house must be developed at least one development (you can develop it at Robin).

Proposing Marriage

After she reaches 10 hearts with the partner you have now chosen, you must propose marriage to her.

To do that you must present a Mermaid’s Pendant to your intended partner. You will need to buy it for 5,000g from the Old Mariner. You can find him on rainy days at the tidal pools on the beach (across the bridge you repaired).

The Wedding

The wedding ceremony takes place in the morning, 3 days after you propose. That is, if you propose on Monday the 1st, the marriage cutscene will take place as soon as you wake up on Thursday the 4th. When the ceremony is completed, you and your spouse appear at the farmhouse at 6am (on the porch, or if you have restarted or reloaded the game day, inside the house).

The day then proceeds as it normally does when you are married. Friendship with your spouse can now rise to 14 hearts, but decays by 20 points per day whenever there is no contact between you two.

Married Life

After completing the wedding matters, they become a wife and wife, and you can also have children.

Spouse Chores

  • Watering all crops on the farm (in spring, summer, and fall).
  • Feeding all animals.
  • Watering the dog/cat bowl.
  • Repairing broken fences.
  • Giving gifts, including breakfast and dinner dishes. (If inventory is full, the item will not be received.)

Once married, the player’s spouse will immediately set up a unique room inside the Farmhouse, located to the right of the bedroom.

And also this area will be dedicated to their daily activities.
