Prep for Ultimate Valby: Guide on Supply Moisture!
I have seen a couple of instances of people wanting to play Valby before her ultimate comes out, but it just doesn’t feel worth to invest into normal Valby with the ultimate version just a few weeks out. So I am putting a budget build on Valby that is centered around using weapons as her entire source of damage.
First Things First: What is Supply Moisture?
Supply Moisture is a transcendent module that gives skill critical hit rate, skill duration and firearm attribute trigger rate. while standing on water In return, you no longer get the reduction of MP consumption from Valby’s passive, essentially getting replaced by Supply Moisture.
The crit given by the module is an additive 20% to the base of both your weapon and skill crit chance. So thunder cage, having 20% base crit chance, is given an additive 20% extra crit, making your new base crit chance 40%. This new 40% is then what your modules applify.
This means essentially ANY weapon in the game can become a weapon with a viable crit build thanks to Supply Moisture. Even a weapon with 1% base crit chance will be given a new base of 21% for mods to amplify! Rolls on weapons also apply after supply moisture, meaning you can get super crazy with crit.
Even though supply moisture gives Valby a base skill crit rate of 25%, for a budget build, I opted for purely building for weapon damage, as I feel that is the main bulk of your damage. This build is pretty basic, focusing on survivability since all of your damage comes from your weapon. I have an activator applied and one catalyst, though you don’t need to use a catalyst either! If you don’t feel like maxing out supply moisture, feel free to take out skill extension or shield conversion to compensate for the extra capacity cost!
Aside from tank stats, the only necessity is skill duration. Valby’s skills can be pretty costly without her passive, so we want to cast her skills as few times as possible, while also keeping water on the ground for as long as possible to gain the buffs of supply moisture. These mods are very popular across the board for many characters so you don’t need to fall bad about investing into them!
The Crit Stick
For damage, you want your weapon to have as much crit chance and damage as possible, without going over 100% crit rate (THERE ARE NO MEGA CRITS. 100% IS THE MAX) Focus on base damage along with what you feel is a reasonable amount of crit chance for your weapon, and as much crit damage as you can reasonably fit. Then apply your usual weak point modules. The idea is you turn any weapon into a crit stick and use it as suck to blow away enemies with constant big damage crits.
This is more focused on weapon damage, and therefore is generally better for bossing than mobbing, since mobbing would require more investment to work at the same level, but can be used reliably for both. This is a cheap, effective setup that can survive and dish out damage relevant to how built your weapon is!
When ultimate valby drops, I will be refining this base into a pure bossing build, most likely focused on survivability since your movement is restricted to where your water is placed. Getting your crit sticks ready now will save you the time of prepping them after ultimate valby comes out. When she does, I will be looking to test her new modules and see if any can take supply moisture’s place as a viable bossing module. But for now, supply moisture is her best in slot for the most damage across the board!
PSA: Unrelated, Laundy Bomb, Valby’s ultimate, only sucks up enemies who have inflicted with laundry (wet status effect). Many people wonder why it doesn’t seem to work have the time, and that’s why! You need to soak the enemies for the pulling effect to properly take place.
Just a side note, there’s no weapon builds included here because essentially ANY WEAPON can become a crit stick for Valby now. Just apply as much crit chance/damage as you reasonably can and damage exponentially grows.
