V Rising – Meaning of Server Settings

This guide will explain what the various settings in your ServerHostSettings.json mean.

How to Host Your Own Server (Rental Service Provider)

You can host a server at game server hosting provider:

Note: Every gaming server goes online immediately! A welcome email including your connection information (guide) will be sent to you when your gaming server is created.

Intro

Alright you got your server up and running found the settings file and have no clue what any of those lines of code mean. Welcome to the guide that will help you figure that out. Although we as a community have not identified every aspect of the settings since no official guide was posted this will be more than enough to start your server off.

How to Access

So I can’t give you directions if you rented a server but if you are running your own private server you will find the files in two locations.

  • [drive]:\Users[yourname]\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRisingServer\Settings
  • [drive]:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\VRisingDedicatedServer\VRisingServer_Data\StreamingAssets

Your locations may vary depending on where you installed the files. Now when I installed my server I had to create the Settings folder. You may or may not need to do this.
