Ultimate Guide to Troops

Troops are the main care taker of your city. Having more and stronger troops will allow you to be more efficient in events. We will discuss here everything related to troops and some tips and tricks about them.

Training, Promoting and Dismissing Troops

There are multiple tiers of troops that are unlocked based on the level of your training camps.

It is recommended that you always only have your highest tier troops. You can achieve that by promoting as soon as you unlock a new tier. Having low tier troops will fill up your infirmary and cause your high tier troops to go to enlistment in case of a city attacks.

There are 3 types of troops and each one has it’s own camp:

• Infantry
• Lancers
• Marksman

Each troop type has it’s own benefit but it is always recommended to have the ratio of troops to have high Infantry then Marksman then Lancers because Infantry are the front line when you attack someone or get attacked and the protect the Lancers and Marksmen behind them.

Training

To train troops you simply go to the camp of the troop type you want to train and press on the training button.

Training duration will be different based on the troop level you’re training, research, island buildings, Ling Shuang’s skill, alliance research and facilities, and minister appointment and president skills.

Training capacity will be different based on your camp level and your research but you can also purchase a training capacity boost with 3000 Gems that will give you 3x your normal training capacity. You can learn how to increase troop capacity using this link.

It is recommended to use this boost in one of two scenarios:

• You will be offline for two days and not available to restart a new training
• Use it in events like SVS, King of ice field and Hall of chief by starting a training one or two days before the troop training day (Different for each person) for it to end right at 00:00 UTC which will give you a big boost in points

Promotion

To promote troops you have to go to the troop tier you want to promote in the camp and click on the yellow arrow. The troops will always be promoted to the highest tier in your camp.

Troop promotion capacity is higher than training capacity. As mentioned it is recommended to always promote as soon as you unlock a new troop tier.

Dismissing Troops

Sometimes it is needed to dismiss some of your troops to lower your power for state transfer or get rid of low level troops. You can dismiss low level troops at any time but you can only dismiss your max level troops during the state transfer event.

This is done to protect you from any misclicks that could cause you losing your troops.

To dismiss troops we go to profile -> Troops -> Then click on the tier you want to dismiss and press dismiss -> You can then specify the amount you want to dismiss and press the dismiss button again.

Setting Troop Formations

Troop formation is important when it comes to battle because it could be the difference between winning or losing.

To set your troop formation you press on the balance button when deploying troops and adjust the ratio based on what you need.

You can also select this option to save this formation for all the attacks you do during your current session.

Additionally you can save a specific formation if you use it a lot by pressing the save icon and selecting a slot to put it in.

When setting multiple squads for events like bear trap for example it is recommended to camp your troops outside your city so you don’t use an amount of troops you don’t have.

Fire Crystal Troops Stats

After reaching Furnace level 30 and your state reaches a certain age you will unlock the fire crystal age. This will allow you to use fire crystals to upgrade specific buildings. Troop buildings are one of them.

Once you complete all 5 stages of a fire crystal upgrade for a camp, the troop type for this camp will be automatically upgraded to that fire crystal level. You can view and compare the fire crystal troop stats using this link.
