Zanki Zero: Last Beginning – All Shigabane, Their Effects and Tips on How to Get Them

A guide detailing all available Shigabane in the game and tips on how to unlock them. This guide will provide details on all Shigabane available in the game and some ways to unlock the more tedious ones.

Introduction

I made this guide as while working towards getting 100% achievement completion of the game. Some information, such as all possible sources of Status Effects or all possible spawn locations for Boss Creatures, may be missing since I only listed the sources I found gave out the related Shigabane. In the last section of the guide there is an ordered list of Shigabane as they appear in the menu you can use when figuring out which Shigabane you are missing.

These are general Shigabane that can be earned by all characters.

  • Tip: I highly recommend until Stage 07 before aiming for this one, as this is the point where you get access to all the parts you need to make the level 5 bedrooms.
  • Note: Keep in mind that you need to have a full living party, meaning if multiple people die at once only one person will get this. Be sure that the person you want to get this Shigabane is the only one that dies/ is the first one who dies.

Enemy Specific (Stage 01 – Mashiro Garden Tower)

Each enemy in the game has a unique Shigabane associated with them and all of their moves. Enemies will be listed in roughly the order they will be encountered, but one thing to note is that on higher difficulties (mainly IV and V) it’s possible for certain enemy types to spawn sooner than their main stage. Another thing to note is that variants of enemies have their own unique Shigabane, meaning that you need to get the Shigabane for both the Little Piglet and the Blue Piglet as they count as two different creatures.
(Note: Some Shigabane are shared between variants of an enemy. These shared Shigabane will be indicated like so: **[Shigabane Name]**)

These are some of the most time consuming Shigabane to get in this game due to (most) of the bosses moves having a unique Shigabane associted with them and the randomness in when (and where) the bosses respawn. I highly recommend playing on difficulty III – V when farming later in the game as bosses start spawning in locations other than their original spawn point. Try to make as few trips to the bosses as possible when they do spawn as they can eventually despawn. If a boss has spawns outside of their original position I will list locations I have seen them (though I probably haven’t listed them all).

Creature of Sloth
One of the most tedious bosses to farm Shigabane for due to heavy RNG when it comes to his necktie attack. While he can consistently be made to use his melee attack or ranged attack, his ranged attack has 3 different attacks types (non-elemental, freezing, and electric) that each have their own Shigabane associated with and it’s complete RNG on which one is used when attacking. I did my farming for all of Creature of Sloth’s Shigabane when I was in STAGE 08 so I am unsure when Creature of Sloth starts spawning with the Frigid and Electric Necktie attacks. I farmed the Creature of Sloths that spawned in locations other than the original spawn location.

SPAWN LOCATIONS

  • Original Spawn: Mashiro Garden Tower
  • Mashiro Metro Plaza (B1 – Shopping District and B1 – UG Platform)
  • Coromo Hot Springs (Northeast Gate and Main Hot Springs Village)

Death by Creature of Sloth
– Killed by the Creature of Sloth.
Effect: [Damage from the Creature of Sloth greatly decreased]

Death by Chair Strike
– Died from being hit with a chair.
Effect: [Damage from being hit with a chair greatly decreased]

Death by Necktie
– Died from being penetrated by a necktie-like Clione.
Effect: [Damage from Clione Neckties greatly decreased]

  • Tip: This is easiest to get in STAGE 01, as later in the game newer spawns of Creature of Sloth also have the Electric Necktie and Frigid Necktie Shigabane. If you opt to get this later in the game it will still be possible but you will be relying on RNG to have this move proc instead of the Frigid Necktie attack or the Electric Necktie attack. This attack is the ranged attack when standing in line of sight of the Creature of Sloth.

Death by Frigid Necktie
– Died from being penetrated by a Frigid Clione Necktie.
Effect: [Damage from Frigid Clione Neckties greatly decreased]

  • Note: Heavily RNG dependent. Get attacked by the ranged necktie attack and pray that this procs.

Death by Electric Necktie
– Died from being burnt by an Electric Clione Necktie.
Effect: [Damage from Electric Clione Neckties greatly decreased]

  • Note: Heavily RNG dependent. Get attacked by the ranged necktie attack and pray that this procs.

Creature of Wrath
Easy to farm boss that spawns frequently in late game. Only two attacks, a melee and an AOE attack. Just make sure not to break his Clione as it’s needed for him to use these moves.

SPAWN LOCATIONS:

  • Original Spawn: Monkey Tree House Village
  • Coromo Hot Springs (Southeast Gate and Main Hot Springs Village)
  • Mashiro Nanotechnology Institute

Death by Creature of Wrath
– Killed by the Creature of Wrath.
Effect: [Damage from the Creature of Wrath greatly decreased]

Death by Grandfather’s Blow
– Died from a grandfather’s blow.
Effect: [Damage from grandfather’s blow greatly decreased]

  • Note: This is Creature of Wrath’s melee attack while he has no broken parts so when getting this do not break his hair clione.

Death by Poisonous Fluid
– Died by being covered in Poisonous Fluid.
Effect: [Damage from Poisonous Fluid greatly decreased]

Creature of Pride
One of the time consuming bosses to farm Shigabane for, mostly due to the variety of moves. Fortunately this boss is consistent with its attack pattern so it should be easy to farm. This boss also spawns in a variety of locations so wait times between farming the moves should be small.

SPAWN LOCATIONS:

  • Original Spawn: Mashiro Metro Plaza
  • Mashiro Garden Tower (1F – General Affairs and 3F – Magazine Ed. Dept.)
  • The Belle Moi (Lounge Deck)
  • Hirasaka Memorial Hospital (5F – Special Ward)

Death by Creature of Pride
– Killed by the Creature of Pride.
Effect: [Damage from the Creature of Pride greatly decreased]

Death by a No Holds Barred Punch
– Died from being punched.
Effect: [Damage from Punches greatly decreases]

  • Tip: Break off Creature of Pride’s big arm and get into melee range.

Death by Being Cut Down
– Died from being cut down by a Clione.
Effect: [Damage from being cut down by a Clione greatly decreased]

  • This is the primary melee attack of Creature of Pride when the big arm Clione is not broken.

Death by Poison Toss
– Died from being covered in a poisonous spray.
Effect: [Damage from Poison Sprays greatly decreased]

  • Uses this attack at range when his backpack is still in tact.

Death by Skinny Arm Clione
– Died from being penetrated by a Skinny Clione Arm.
Effect: [Damage from Skinny Clione Arms greatly decreased]

  • Tip: Destroy the backpack on Creature of Pride’s back to make sure this is the ranged attack they use. Otherwise break the big arm clione and stand at range, moving out of the way when Poison Toss is used.

Bosses (Stage 04 – 05)

Kurosuke*
Kurosuke has two types of melee attacks, a knife attack and a punch. He also has a charged attack that does massive damage but this move does NOT have any Shigabane associated with it.
*Note: After completing STAGE 07 he can spawn in the same area as the boss in that level (either he spawns or the STAGE 07 boss spawns).

SPAWN LOCATIONS (Only One):

  • Hirasaka Memorial Hospital (6F – Research Station)

Death by Kurosuke
– Killed by Kurosuke.
Effect: [Damage from Kurosuke greatly decreased]

Death by Knife
– Died from a knife.
Effect: [Damage from Knives greatly decreased]

  • Tip: This is the default melee attack of Kurosuke and the easier of the two to get. One thing to note is that his charged attack does NOT count for this Shigabane.

Death by a Fist
– Died from being punched with a fist.
Effect: [Damage from Fist Strikes greatly decreased]

  • Note: This is mostly used as a follow-up to a knife attack (he’ll use a knife attack then use a punch attack). This one can be tedious as he will not always follow-up a knife attack with a punch (he can use a second knife attack or go into a charge attack).

Creature of Gluttony
An easy boss to farm due to only having two move related Shigabane.

SPAWN LOCATIONS:

  • Original: The Belle Moi
  • Coromo Hot Springs (Main Hot Springs Village)
  • Kaiyo Academy (Main Building – 1F and Main Building – 2F)
  • Hirasaka Memorial Hospital (5F – Special Ward)

Death by Creature of Gluttony
– Killed by the Creature of Gluttony.
Effect: [Damage from the Creature of Gluttony greatly decreased]

Death by Pile Bunker
– Died from being penetrated by a Pile Bunker.
Effect: [Damage from Pile Bunkers greatly decreased]

  • Stand in front of the Creature of Gluttony (either directly in front or 1 space away). This should make them use this move.

Death by Gas
– Died from being sprayed with gas.
Effect: [Damage from Gas attack greatly decreased]

  • Stand anywhere around the Creature of Gluttony (just not directly in front) and this attack should be used.

Creature of Envy
Another easy boss to get Shigabane. All moves are consistent and the multiple spawns make it very easy to get all these Shigabane at once without worrying about despawns (more than likely this boss will hinder your progress on farming other bosses that spawn in its origianal boss room).

SPAWN LOCATIONS:

  • Original Spawn: Coromo Hot Springs
  • The Belle Moi (Stern: Flooded Area)

Death by Creature of Envy
– Killed by the Creature of Envy.
Effect: [Damage from the Creature of Envy greatly decreased]

Death by Crocodile Bite
– Died from being bitten by a crocodile head.
Effect: [Damage from Crocodile Bites greatly decreased]

  • Default melee attack when on the ground and the Crocodile Head is not broken.

Death by Crocodile Poison
– Died from a poisonous fluid sprayed out of a crocodile head.
Effect: [Damage from Crocodiles Poison greatly decreased]

  • Default attack after breaking the Crocodile Head.

Death by a Water Cutter
– Died from being sliced by a Water Cutter.
Effect: [Damage from Water Cutters greatly decreased]

  • Default attack when attacking while in the water. Look for a Creature of Envy swimming in the water and stand nearby. This will cause the Creature of Envy to use this attack.

Bosses (Stage 06 – 08)

Creature of Lust
Relatively straightforward boss to farm from. The only problem might come from having multiple Creature of Lust spawning in the location.

SPAWN LOCATION:

  • Original: Kaiyo Academy
  • Mashiro Nanotechnology Institute (Lab Area – LV 4)

Death by Creature of Lust
– Killed by the Creature of Lust.
Effect: [Damage from the Creature of Lust greatly decreased]

Death by Clione Hair
– Died from hair-like Clione.
Effect: [Damage from Clione hair greatly decreased]

  • Tip: Melee attack of Creature of Lust. Consistently uses this when approaching, simply let Creature of Lust walk up to you and it will use this attack.

Death by Binding Shriek
– Died from succumbing to a shriek.
Effect: [Damage from Binding Shrieks greatly decreased]

  • This attack is used after killing the Boyfriend Creature and breaking the flower Clione on the Creature of Lust.

Death by Pollen Attack
– Died from being covered in Pollen.
Effect: [Damage from Pollen greatly decreased]

  • This is the AOE attack of the Creature of Lust.

Also coupled with the Creature of Lust is

Boyfriend Creature

Death by Boyfriend Creature
– Killed by the Boyfriend Creature.
Effect: [Damage from Boyfriend Creature greatly decreased]

Death by Cloudy Fluid
– Died from being covered with a Cloudy Fluid.
Effect: [Damage from Cloudy Fluids greatly decreased]

  • This is the attack the Boyfriend Creature uses before teleporting away. Just attack the Boyfriend Creature and wait for it to use this attack.

Armored Kurosuke
One of the most tedious bosses to farm in the game due to RNG and its location. He shares a spawn with normal Kurosuke so it can take time before he reappears in his original location. Two of his moves, while RNG dependent, come out relatively consistently. His flamethrower move on the other hand is possibly on of the most inconsistent (in my experience) moves to get him to use even when his other parts are broken, so be prepared to wait a bit for him to use the attack. His chainsaw attack has no associated Shigabane to it so avoid at all costs.

Death by Armored Kurosuke
– Killed by Armored Kurosuke.
Effect: [Damage from Armored Kurosuke greatly decreased]

Death by Clione Flamethrower
– Died from being burned by flames out a Clione’s left arm.
Effect: [Damage from Clione Flamethrowers greatly decreased]

  • Tip: Break off Armored Kurosuke’s tail and back Clione to have a better chance having him use this move. Removing the chainsaw is an option, but this will make him use his much faster knife attack instead. I couldn’t find a reliable way to get Armored Kurosuke to use this move so this will mostly be a waiting game to get him to use this move (from when I was farming for this he seemed to do it more often after doing his quick-hop but it wasn’t consistent).

Death by Clione Acid Spray
– Died from acid released from Clione on an enemy’s back.
Effect: [Damage from Clione Acid Spray greatly decreased]

  • Tip: Break off Armored Kurosuke’s tail and flamethrower. Then it’s RNG for whether he uses this move or his melee attack.

Death by Electric Clione Tail
– Died from getting hit by an electricity-shooting Clione tail.
Effect: [Damage from Electric Clione Tails greatly decreased]

  • Tip: Break off Armored Kurosuke’s back clione and flamethrower. After this it’s RNG between this move and his melee move (chainsaw/knife if you broke his chainsaw).

White Creature of Wrath
A special variant of the Creature of Wrath that spawns late in the game. Has two associated Shigabane, one AOE attack and one melee attack. Like the Creature of Wrath do not break his Clione as it’s needed to get the Shigabane. The melee attack Shigabane is RNG dependent on if you get attacked with the Blue acid melee attack.

SPAWN LOCATIONS:

  • Monkey Tree House Village (Campsite – North and Tree House – Corridor)
  • Mashiro Nanotechnology Institute

Death by White Creature of Wrath
– Killed by White Creature of Wrath.
Effect: [Damage from White Creature of Wrath greatly decreased]

Death by Strong Acid
– Died being melted by Potent Acid.
Effect: [Damage from Potent Acid greatly decreased]

  • Note: This is the melee attack of White Creature of Wrath while they still have their clione. This Shigabane is associated with the Blue acid and not the Green acid so this is RNG dependent on which one procs when he attacks.

Death by Cryogenic Fluid
– Died from being frozen by Cryogenic Fluid.
Effect: [Damage from Cryogenic Fluid greatly decreased]

  • Note: This is the AOE gas cloud attack of the White Creature of Wrath.
