Expeditions: A MudRunner – How to Make Money

How to Make Money

When you start the game, you’ll have around $30,000. This might seem like a lot, but with truck recovery costs averaging over $1,000 and upgrades reaching $7,000, it’s easy to deplete your funds quickly.

Everything in the game involves money. Here’s what you’ll spend it on:

Specialists

Specialists are professionals you can take on expeditions to ease your tasks. You unlock them by completing assignments. You can bring one specialist from each category, totaling three. Prices range from $600 to $1,500.

Inventory and Cargo Items

Before each expedition, you choose items for your truck’s inventory and cargo slots. Some items are free, like Jack-Screws and Anchors ($1,500 and $1,200, respectively). Additional fuel canisters cost $500, spare parts $500, and spare wheels $750.

Car Recovery

If you encounter trouble, you can recover your truck to a base or outpost. Initially free, repeated use incurs a fee. Recovery costs vary, from $1,000 to $4,200.

Truck Customization

Customizing your truck is a significant expense. Upgrades include new engines, tires, winches, and exterior components. Prices range from $500 to $7,000 per upgrade.

How to Earn Money

Making money is as easy as spending it!

Completing Expeditions

The main income source is completing expeditions. Not all assignments pay the same, so focus on high-paying ones. Expeditions typically pay from four to five figures upon completion, with a prepayment provided upfront.

Maximize earnings by completing additional challenges, visible in the rewards panel. Bonuses range from avoiding damage to minimizing vehicle recovery.

Completing Tasks and Contracts

Earn extra money by completing sidequests like contracts and tasks found while exploring.

Selling Objects

Loot airdrops for items including resources and valuable finds like dinosaur bones. These items are automatically sold at the end of expeditions.

Finding Points of Interest

Use devices like binoculars or drones to scout for points of interest like airdrops and climbs. Each discovery adds $100 to your funds.

My first game was Crash Bandicoot (PS1) from the legendary studio Naughty Dog back in 1996. I turned my passion for gaming into a job back in 2019 when I transformed my geek blog (Re-actor) into the gaming website it is today.
