A guide going through how to get every achievement in FATE, with tips on how to maximise efficiency.

Fate Seeker

Description: “Create and Customize a New Character”

Details: Very simple, just start the game and create your character. You’ll get the achievement as you load into the game.

Best In Show

Description: “Permanently change your pet’s form”

Details: Find or purchase a Flawless quality fish and shift-click it in your inventory. It will permanently change the form of your pet until you use another fish. Upon using a Flawless fish, you’ll earn this achievement.

Flawless fish can be purchased from Pikko the Fisherman in the dungeon, his stock varies and he often won’t stock Flawless fish. There’s a chance that he’ll stock a Flawless Grouper from Dungeon Level 5 and deeper. You can also find them or fish them up at this level or fish them up in town.

I Guess You Were Hungry …

Description: Catch all 20 types of Fish

Details: To achieve this achievement I believe you can also purchase the fish from Pikko the Fisherman rather than catch them. There are, indeed, 20 different types of fish to purchase.

  • Grouper ⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Hatchetfish⠀⠀
  • Betta⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
  • Archerfish⠀⠀⠀
  • Silverfin
  • Rubyscale
  • Dory
  • Luminette
  • Clownfish
  • Carp
  • Lemonfish
  • Bass
  • Darter
  • Goldfish
  • Trout
  • Steelbelly
  • Arrowfish
  • Snapper
  • Dogfish

Every single fish can be fished up from Dungeon Level 1 and Deeper.

Ka-Ching!

Description: “Open 10 Large Chests”

Details: Large Chests are, surprisingly, Large Chests. They have a purple hue around them so they’re hard to miss when traversing the dungeon. Large Chests can be found on Dungeon Level 4 and Deeper.

Lightning Bolt! Lightning Bolt!

Description: Raise Magic to 25

Details: Upon levelling up, you have points to put into Strength, Dexterity, Vitality and Magic. Raise your base Magic skill to 25 to earn this achievement.

All of the achievements requiring you to get a certain stat to a certain integer can be achieved comfortably in one playthrough.

These Guns?

Description: “Raise Strength to 45”

Details: Upon levelling up, you have points to put into Strength, Dexterity, Vitality and Magic. Raise your base Strength skill to 45 to earn this achievement.

All of the achievements requiring you to get a certain stat to a certain integer can be achieved comfortably in one playthrough.

Skillful Warrior

Description: “Raise Dexterity to 40”

Details: Upon levelling up, you have points to put into Strength, Dexterity, Vitality and Magic. Raise your base Dexterity skill to 40 to earn this achievement.

All of the achievements requiring you to get a certain stat to a certain integer can be achieved comfortably in one playthrough.

Energized

Description: Upon levelling up, you have points to put into Strength, Dexterity, Vitality and Magic. Raise your base Vitality skill to 45 to earn this achievement.

All of the achievements requiring you to get a certain stat to a certain integer can be achieved comfortably in one playthrough.

Shiny!

Description: “Find all 15 Gem Types”

Details: To get this achievement, you need to get all the gems via fishing, purchasing or by other means such as looting chests or prying them from FATE Statues. FATE Statues can either spawn a boss or give you two gems, so be careful. You do not need to collect any Artifact (Orange quality) gems, and they do not count towards the achievement. You must collect the base 15.

  • Ruby
  • Turquoise
  • Opal
  • Sunstone
  • Bloodstone
  • Zircon
  • Tourmaline
  • Peridot
  • Lapis
  • Obsidian
  • Jade
  • Tanzanite
  • Topaz
  • Sapphire
  • Amethyst

All of these gems can be found or bought from Dungeon Level 1 and deeper.
You can also purchase gems from Jin the Seer in town, she is next to the fountain.

Getts the Traveller also sells them, he can be found in the dungeon and also outside the dungeon door in town.

Fate Ensured

Description: “Create a Descendent character”

Details: At the start of the game, you speak to Bremen, the Wizard outside of the dungeon gate to start the quest to defeat a boss on a certain Dungeon Floor (usually between 40 and 52)

Upon defeating that boss, return to Bremen and you’ll receive your reward. After that you’ll have the option to speak to him and retire your character, this allows you to make a Descendent. Upon creating that character and starting the game again you’ll receive this achievement.

If you wish to keep playing on more characters, an heirloom is passed down to your next character upon retirement, I recommend making that heirloom a necklace so all of your characters can use it regardless of their build.

I love two things in life, games and sports. Although sports were my earliest interest, it was video games that got me completely addicted (in a good way). My first game was Crash Bandicoot (PS1) from the legendary studio Naughty Dog back in 1996. I turned my passion for gaming into a job back in 2019 when I transformed my geek blog (Re-actor) into the gaming website it is today.
