This guide contains info on hidden collectible locations, appearance rates for any wild Pokemon, and a strategy to navigate towards the Fighting or Ghost Badge.
Another big city, or maybe castle? Either way, it looks amazing and there are a number of collectibles to pick up before doing anything important. The Pokemon Center has a new shop! Talk to the girl on the right and she’ll show you a list of items you can buy using BP.

To the left of the Pokemon Center is a house you can enter. Talk to Black Belt Brian to fight a Level 2 Cottonee. You can’t be able to KO since it’s holding a Focus Sash allowing it to endure any attack with 1HP remaining. Win the battle and earn the Focus Sash!
Three shops line the road on the left. First is a boutique shop with new clothing items. The next is a Battle Cafe where you can fight a double of higher level Pokemon once a day. The third shop is a barber shop. Pretty standard!
In the corner where the Noibat is flapping around near the small child, look for a hidden Super Repel along the brick pillar.
The opposite side of the brick pillar has two Hyper Potions!
Cross the bridge and look for two hidden X Attacks to the left of the Pokemon Center.
Keep running left and you’ll eventually find a battle court where a Gastrodon and Rhyhorn prepare for an epic battle. Look behind the benches on the right for a Muscle Band.
There’s a lady on the left side of the battle court who wants to trade her Togepi for your Toxel. If you visited the nursery on Route 5 and talked to the lady inside, you should have gotten a Toxel for free!
Continue down the path on your left and you’ll eventually see a guy standing near the second bridge entrance. Chat with and agree to give him your Applin. Don’t worry, you’ll get it back! Watch the cute and awkward cutscene and you’ll be rewarded with a Tart Apple. Give this to your Applin to have it evolve into Flapple.
Pokemon Shield: Instead of getting a Tart Apple like you do in Sword, the guy will give you a Sweet Apple which evolves your Applin into Appletun!
If you take the steps down to the moat you’ll find an older gentlemen willing to teach one of your Pokemon a battle-combo move. Since the bridge is blocked off by a Team Yell goon, head back to the entrance of town.
This time go down the right path and enter the first house you see. Talk to the small child since he is apparently and expert and can tell you how friendly you are to the Pokemon you select. What is he, four years old? The mom on the couch will tell you how much effort a particular Pokemon is giving. What kind of family is this? Chat with the girl in the back and she’ll hand you a Soothe Bell.
As you turn the corner down the right path, spot and grab the hidden Dire Hit.
The first house out of the three is home to the bird lady but there’s nothing for you to collect here. Next. Enter the second house and listen to the man talk about the weather. This will get you a Heat Rock! You can come back here every day for a new day related item!
The third house has nothing of note, neither does the train station further down the path. Since Team Yell is blocking the rest of the path, head up the stairs instead. Near the gate is a Strawberry Sweet you won’t want to miss.
There’s a hidden Rare Candy in the corner behind the Poke Ball statue.
The girl at the end near the building doors has a love letter she wants sent to Frank in Ballonlea. We don’t have access to this location just yet so let’s hold onto it for now. And hey, no peeking.
At the very end is a pair of Wise Glasses.
With everything collected and seen, head back to the entrance of Hammerlocke and speak to Rose, Oleanna, and Bede.
After a short chat, check for a hidden Nugget in the corner behind the Hammerlocke sign.
Head inside the stadium and you’ll get instructed by Rose to find the Vault in Hammerlocke. Before we head out, speak to Ball Guy to get a Level Ball.
The Vault is located on the west side of Hammerlocke. From the stadium, take a left when you see the Pokemon Center. After a quick run-in with Leon, continue going left, crossing over the first bridge but stopping before you hit the second bridge. The Hammerlocke Vault entrance will be in front of the battle court.
Where to Find The Hammerlocke Vault
Looking for the Vault in Hammerlocke? You’ll find it all the way to the east, just before the second bridge that takes you into Route 6. Look for the double doors in front of the battle court with the Rhyhorn and Gastrodon. Better get out of there quick before things get messy.
After meeting Raihan at the entrance, follow him inside. After he grants you permission, go up the steps and onto the outside portion of the Vault.
Pass the second set of stairs and look for the TM29 Charm laying at the end.
Enter the next set of doors to find Sonia admiring and studying a few tapestries on the wall. After some speculation on the legends of Galar, grab the two Revives that Sonia is kind enough to offer.
Head back to the entrance and speak to Raihan one last time before heading down the path on the left to get to Route 6.
