All you need for this is:
Throw the crafted spear at any part of the cannibal (centre mass is easier to hit) this will stun the cannibal giving you enough time to run up to it and finnish them off.
However be careful with the big cannibals they either shrug off the hit or get back up quickly be extremely careful not to get hit yourself.
