Gears 5 – All Collectibles Guide

Collectibles

There are 90 Collectibles spread across the four Acts of Gears 5, so follow our guide below to track down every one. You can track your progress in the Collectibles section of the pause menu.

Act I

Chapter 1 – Shot In The Dark

1 – Weathered Spectacles

Immediately after you detach from the chopper, turn right and walk to the corner of the shallow pool to find the Weathered Spectacles sitting on a rock.

2 – Onyx Guard Challenge Coin

After you detach from the chopper, head left and hug the left side of the path to find a hidden section, which slopes down and leads to this collectible.

3 – Wellness Advisory Poster

After entering and navigating through the first section of ruins, the tunnel will collapse. Follow the path to the right, then take the first branch left to find the Wellness Advisory Poster on a wall inside the compound.

4 – COG Tags: Fallen Azura Gear

After defeating the Carrier and having Dave open the door to the old COG facility, take the path straight ahead and you’ll find the collectible on the ground on the right after you ascend the first short set of stairs.

5 – Chairman’s Wristwatch

After defeating the Carrier and having Dave open the door to the old COG facility, take the path left, up the stairs. At the top of the stairs, take the first door on the left, then follow the left path and you’ll soon find the collectible sitting on a desk, opposite a Boltok pistol.

6 – Lightmass Missile Strike Authorization

After the fight with the Scion, take the exit on the left side of the room at the top of the ramp. Circle around to the left and, when you are overlooking the battle area, you’ll find the collectible on a console to your right.

7 – UIR Hammer of Dawn Blueprints

After the fight with the Scion, have Dave unlock the door at the end of the hall. Once the door is opened, head straight through and you’ll find a small office. You’ll find the collectible on the desk in the middle of the room.

Chapter 2 – Diplomacy

1 – Photograph of Kilo Squad

After the introductory cutscene for Chapter 2 concludes, turn left and approach the desk and you’ll find the collectible.

2 – Mark 3 Lancer Blueprint

After picking up the Flash module for Jack, head left and you’ll find the collectible on a box at the end of the hall.

3 – Trauma Record: Marcus Fenix

After picking up the Flash module for Jack, head right and you’ll find this collectible on a cart just to the right of the doorway.

4 – DBI Marketing Brochure

After picking up the Jack Component, head down the hallway towards Jinn’s office and you’ll find the collectible sitting on one of the benches across from the Check-In counter.

5 – Gym Notice To Trainees

After the cutscene with Fahz ends, turn right and you’ll find the collectible on the far wall.

Chapter 3 – This Is War

1 – COG Tags: Fallen Raven Pilot

After Del and Fahz arrive to free you from the wreckage, you’ll find a fallen Raven pilot on the ground shortly in front of you. The collectible is on the ground next to them.

2 – The New Ephyran: 20th Anniversary Edition

After Del and Fahz free you from the wreckage, proceed forward through the doorway. Enter the room opposite, then circle around to the left, following the wall, to find the collectible sitting on the desk.

3 – Seditious Literature

After first catching sight of the Swarmak, circle up and around to the next floor. Once you reach the top of the staircase, turn left and you’ll find the collectible on the desk in the corner.

4 – Settlement 2 Welcome Package

Once you reach the apartment complex full of civilians, take a left. Head into the small bedroom behind the overturned couch and you’ll find the collectible on an end table.

5 – Storied Embry Star

After the fight in the square with Lizzie, head up the stairs in the ruined house to the left of the gate, then head straight ahead to the far wall. You’ll find the collectible in a small, open drawer.

6 – COG Tags: Fallen Gear at Condor Crash

After helping Lizzie get rid of the Scion and Pouncers in the square, head right through the gate to initiate a cutscene. After it concludes, follow the path to the left to reach a Condor crash site. As you enter the fuselage, the collectible will be on the ground on your left.

7 – Seran Colossus

After moving through the Condor crash and arriving on the main street with the Snatcher and Juvies, continue down the street and into the bookstore on the left. Circle around the table with the golden statues to find this collectible.

Chapter 4 – The Tide Turns

1 – Memo to Bomah Hotel Staff

After you break through the gate leading to The Grand Bomah Hotel, take a left and hop up to the loading platform on the left side. Follow the pathway around the corner to the left and you’ll find the collectible on a table.

2 – COG Tags: Fallen Gear at Hotel

After breaking into The Grand Bomah Hotel, help Del push the double door open to enter a dark room. Once Jack provides light, the collectible will be on the ground in front of you, next to a fallen Gear.

3 – Lost Horse Plush

After clearing out the Flock-controlled DB units, head through the double doors on the bottom floor and head straight forward. You’ll find the collectible sitting on the floor in the corner of a small room.

4 – Settlement 2 Summer Birth Pamphlet

After finding the Lost Horse Plush, head up the spiral stairs, then turn right. Head through the pathway, then take an immediate left and you’ll find the collectible on a table to the right.

5 – Song Lyrics

After fighting the Flock in the open street, head into the Palace theater. Once you reach the top of the stairs, head left into the Dressing Room, then head left and you’ll find the collectible on a table in a small room.

6 – Worn Lighter

After passing through the Dressing Room, you’ll find this collectible on a table to the left.

7 – Octus Canon Scroll Prop

After opening the Stage Door, cross the room and you’ll find the collectible sitting on a box on the far side.

Act II

Chapter 1 – Recruitment Drive

1 – Hand-Carved Riftworm Flute

Once the opening cutscene ends, head down the stairs to the right and head straight into the shop and you’ll find the collectible on the checkout counter, next to the cash register.

2 – Ilima City License Plate

After you pass through the fish market, continue heading down the main drag and you’ll see a furnace on the right side. The collectible is sitting next to the opening.

3 – Lost Gear Helmet

Just beyond the monument in the village, you’ll find this collectible sitting on the ground next to some bushes.

4 – Wooden Lancer Toy

As you walk through the second section of the village, a boy will taunt you before running around the corner to the right. Follow him and, as you approach the corner, you’ll find the collectible leaning up against a stone block.

5 – Major Howl And The Battlin’ Ants!

As you near the boy, a woman will pull him into a house on the right. Just across the street is the Salvage N’ Trade. Head inside to find the collectible sitting on a table.

6 – New Village Rules Mandate

After passing the stables, you’ll enter a building on your way to the Steam Farm. As you pass through the building, you’ll find the collectible on the lockers to the left.

7 – Note To The Chief

After Kait experiences the vision, keep moving until the path bends to the right. After turning right, enter the small building to your left and you’ll find the collectible sitting on the table.

8 – Norsko’s Letter

When you reach the end of the road and discover the steam farm, you’ll find the collectible sitting on a crate on your right.

9 – Outsider Skiff Schematic

During the fight to defend the upper village, head to the Machine Shop to find a Weaponized Silverback. You’ll find this collectible just to the left of the Silverback, sitting on a box.

10 – COG Tags: Oscar Diaz

After completing the encounter defending the town, you’ll arrive in a darkened building. Head straight ahead and you’ll find the collectible on a desk at the far end of the building, on the right side.

Chapter 2 – Into The Wild

1 – Grindlift Maintenance Notes

The Train Tunnel lies on the west side of the large snowy field. Defeat the Carrier within then break down the door of the train car at the back to find the collectible.

2 – Faded Photograph

Once you unlock the second area for the Skiff to explore, you’ll find a crashed train in the middle of the snowy field. Enter the train car at the end and you’ll find the collectible next to a body on the right.

3 – Lena’s Journal

As you approach New Hope, you’ll find an abandoned campsite. The collectible is lying on the ground, next to the extinguished fire.

4 – Islander’s Lost Earring

AFter reaching the large snowy field, you’ll find a large COG gate on the eastern side. Just in front of the gate are two piles of wrecked vehicles. You’ll find the collectible next to a body near the wreckage slightly to the southwest.

Chapter 3 – Forest For The Trees

1 – Intercepted Letter

After defeating the Stump and entering the New Hope Research Facility, head towards the doorway on the right and you’ll find the collectible sitting on a table.

2 – Sovereign Directive 10345

After defeating the Flock and dropping into the prison, follow the wall around to the right. Keep hugging the wall on the right until you reach a locked door. Have Jack open it and you’ll find a Component and this collectible.

3 – Patient Analysis: AX-331-2

After dropping into the prison, follow the wall around the corner to the right, then turn right when you emerge into the hall. Enter the room at the end of the hall, then turn left and you’ll find the collectible on a table on the left side of the room.

4 – Patient Analysis: EV-184-9

After discovering the child’s room, hop over the wall on the left to shatter the glass and enter the observation center and you’ll find the collectible on a table on the left side of the room.

5 – Patient Analysis: RK-619-4

After reaching the lab and seeing the first of the stasis tanks, circle around the path to the left. Once you reach the long hallway, take the exit on the right to find one of the Sires on an observation table. You’ll find the collectible on a table to the left.

6 – Timeworn Data Drive

From the previous collectible, take the long hallway until you reach the end, then circle left and head down the stairs to the lower floor. Turn right once you enter the doorway and you’ll find the collectible on a ledge to the right.

Chapter 4 – The Source Of It All

1 – Security Memorandum

After you unlock the Old COG Gate, you will gain access to a large snowy area with the Skiff. On the eastern side, you’ll find the East Tower Substation. Open the double doors, then duck into the room on the left and you’ll find the collectible on a box in the corner.

2 – Krav’s Locust Tag

After unlocking the Old COG Gate, follow the icy cliffs to the left until you reach the Old Derrick Site. Outside the site, you’ll find this collectible next to a body.

3 – Grindlift Actuator Component

Complete the Old Derrick Site encounter, found in the northwestern section of the snowy fields after unlocking the Old COG Gate, and you’ll find this collectible after prying the plate off an old piece of tech.

4 – Lena’s Scribbles

This collectible can be found covering the keypad for the door of the Northern Tower Substation.

5 – Orders From Ketor Skorge

After unlocking the Old COG Gate, take the Skiff to the northeast. Towards the center of the giant expanse, you’ll find an Old Derrick Site. This collectible can be found on the right side, before you reach the ruined vehicles which form the arena.

6 – Grindlift Radiator Component

Like the Orders From Ketor Skorge, the Grindlift Radiator Component can be found in the Old Derrick Site towards the center of the large snowy field. Complete the Hollow Storm encounter, then loot the grindlift to obtain this collectible.

7 – Letter To Momma

Down near the southeastern Comm Tower, there is a ridge leading up to the icy bridge. Just right of the bridge, there is an old ruined tank. You’ll find this collectible under a lantern on a table next to the tank.

8 – Frayed Pouncer-Tooth Necklace

After Jack finishes ripping the door to the mine, take the lift up a level, then head through the door to the left. Once you get back out to the train tracks, cross them and climb the tower on the other side. Turn the corner to the right to find this collectible lying on the ground.

9 – Nethercutt Mining Poster

After Kait has her vision in the mine, head right and help Del lift the gate. In the next area, head right to find a locker room with a safe and this collectible on the wall just left of the doorway, as you leave.

10 – Nethercutt Miner’s Journal

After you reach the infested area of the mine (complete with meat pods), head left to find a small living area. You’ll find this collectible sitting on the table as you enter the room.

Chapter 5 – Dirtier Little Secrets

1 – Nethercutt Helmet

As soon as Kait snaps out of her vision, turn around. Head through the icy hallway, then take a right. Walk down the ramp, then turn right and you’ll find this collectible in the middle of the floor.

2 – Subject Analysis UL-119-2

After Niles lowers the cryo gas, head down to the bottom level. Take the first ramp ahead of you and break down the door to find a room with some Jack Components and this collectible on a table on the right.

3 – Subject Analysis: TE-872-3

During a cutscene, Kait will throw a file on the floor. After the cutscene concludes, pick it up to obtain this collectible.

4 – Lexigram Board

After using the Shock Trap on the second cryo unit generator, you can find this collectible leaning up against a body next to the generator.

5 – Subject Analysis: EV-184-9

After lifting the cryo lockdown, turn around and cross the room, towards the door you used to enter, and you’ll find this collectible on a table on the right.

6 – Sketchbook

After lifting the cryo lockdown, head to the next room and turn left and you’ll find this collectible lying on the floor.

Act III

Chapter 1 – Fighting Chance

1 – Corisku Newspaper

As soon as the Act III intro cutscene ends, turn left and you’ll find this collectible sitting on the bar.

2 – Doomed Empire, By Logan Hobbs

From the start of the Chapter, head down the stairs. Walk to the baggage conveyor at the back of the room, then turn right and you’ll find this collectible sitting on a cart to the right, just before the doorway.

3 – Missive To Agent 9

After the intro cutscene ends, head down the stairs and loop around to the right. Head through the security checkpoint metal detectors and take a right. Walk all the way to the room on the end, and you’ll find this collectible sitting on a desk on the left end of the far side.

4 – Nomad’s Creed

After heading outside to meet Paduk, head to the left, then turn right and you’ll find this collectible on a table to the left.

5 – The Astounding Lightning Rangers

After reuniting with JD and Fahz, you’ll have access to a new area, and the Skiff. On the other side of the Raven, there are three hangars, so enter the one in the middle and you’ll find this collectible on a table to the left.

Chapter 2 – Rocket Plan

1 – Hammer Of Dawn Command Case

After you reach the Command Center, follow the wall on the right side and you’ll find this collectible sitting next to a skeletal soldier.

2 – OZP-11 Termination Directive

After Jack gets the necessary files from the system, the door to the rocket hangar will open. Follow the path around and take the stairs on the right to descend to the lower floor. Turn right at the bottom and follow the wall around to the right and you’ll find the collectible sitting on a barrel near some control consoles.

3 – UIR Space Mission Brief

After clearing out the group of Swarm, take the exit on the right side of the room to find a small office. You’ll find this collectible on the desk at the far side of the room.

4 – Loyalist Orders From Major Toly

After defending yourself from the Swarm attack in the corridor, head through the door Jack just ripped. Continue down through the tunnel and open the door. From there, head forward and hop over the sandbags to find this collectible sitting on a green case.

5 – UIR Tag: Major Toly

After getting the rocket moving along the track, you’ll head through a double door and slide down a sandy slope to take out a group of Swarm. After ducking through the rubble to reach the next section, you’ll see a tank straight ahead. Approach it and you’ll find this collectible in the lap of a dead soldier.

6 – The Major’s Speech

After following the rocket along the track, you’ll move through a dark tunnel. At the bottom of the stairs, head left to continue and you’ll find this collectible on a long table on the far side of the room.

Chapter 3 – Some Assembly Required

1 – Nomad’s Sketchings

After completing the Water Tower encounter, kick open the door in the middle of the area and you’ll find the collectible on a desk to the right.

2 – UIR LC Circuit A1

Complete the City Ruins location, then head through the door Jack ripped, and you’ll find the collectible on a table after you climb the first set of stairs.

3 – Well-Worn Vasgari Flag

Complete the City Ruins location, then, after picking up the circuit board (listed above), proceed down the hallway, then turn right and you’ll see the flag hanging on the wall on your right.

4 – UIR Tag: Fallen Loyalist

Just after dismounting the Skiff, but before entering the ruins surrounding the Rocket Hangar, walk to the right and you’ll find this collectible on a corpse leaning up against the ruined wall.

5 – Loyalist Orders To Lieutenant Melich

From Harbor Docks, head south past the stone pillars and you’ll find three ruined tanks. Approach the one on the left to find this collectible, next to a corpse.

6 – UIR LC Circuit B1

After the Train Bridge is lifted, head under it and follow the cliffs on the left side and you’ll soon find the Cargo Shipwreck. Clear out the Rejects and Flocks, then head to the back and go up the stairs. You’ll find this collectible sitting on the floor.

7 – Emergency Loyalist Radiogram

After the Train Bridge is lifted, head under it and turn south immediately to find the Artillery Battery. Complete the encounter there, then head inside and go up the stairs. Circle around to the left and you’ll find the collectible on the console at the end of the room.

8 – RNV Borascu Captain’s Log

In the Cargo Shipwreck, there is a blue shipping container on the right side of the arena. Step inside to find this collectible sitting next to a corpse.

9 – UIR LC Circuit C1

After the Train Bridge is lifted, head under it and turn south immediately to find the Artillery Battery. Complete the encounter there, then head inside and go up the stairs. You’ll find the collectible on the console at the top of the stairs.

10 – UIR Tag: Lieutenant Melich

After clearing out the Swarm at the Train Turntable, head through the double doors to find the control room. Just before realigning the turntable tracks, you’ll find this collectible on a barrel in the corner.

11 – Lightmass Missile Fragment

After entering the Cosmonaut Training Facility, follow the path up the hill to the right and you’ll find this collectible at the foot of an unbroken section of wall.

12 – UIR Tag: Captain Tagger

After stopping the spinning centrifuge in the Cosmonaut Training Facility, climb the rubble to find the beacons, and you’ll find this collectible on the ground to the left.

13 – Fallen Nomad’s Visor

After rescuing the soldiers at the Nomad Convoy, turn around and return to the Skiff, and you’ll find this collectible on the ground to the left, sitting next to the tank in the southwestern corner of the area.

Act IV

Chapter 1 – Homefront

1 – Encyclopedia Of Tyran Military History

After Cole lifts you into the ruined building, head around until you reach the stairs. Take them down, then walk straight ahead to find this collectible sitting on the floor near the end of the room.

2 – Ruptured Gear Helmet

After using the Hammer of Dawn to clear the Swarm from the street, Marcus will open the door at the back of the ruined building. Head through and drop down and you’ll soon reach the street and Fahz will call for aid. Head right and walk until the road ends and you’ll find this collectible on your left.

3 – COG Tags: Minh Young Kim

Once you reach the street just outside the Tomb of the Unknowns, drop down and head to the right, past the entrance to the Tomb. Once you pass the truck on the left side, turn right and you’ll find the collectible, stuck to a stone slab by a knife.

4 – Restoration Notice: Tomb Of The Unknowns

Just before entering the Tomb of the Unknowns, you’ll find this collectible sticking to a wall, just to the right of the door.
